Certificate of Existence apostille
Washington's version of a certificate of good standing, ordered from the Secretary of State and apostilled on the same Thursday. Used to open foreign subsidiaries and bank accounts, register with foreign tax authorities, file trademarks abroad, and bid on foreign contracts.
What you need
Just the business name and its Washington UBI number. There's nothing to mail. I order the certified certificate from the Secretary of State myself, so it's the version the apostille counter accepts. The free informational printout from the state's website isn't, and that's the one most people already have.
Why one price
The $300 covers the state's fee for the certified certificate, the apostille and its fees, and standard UPS return. It's the same Thursday trip as everything else, and one line on your invoice.
Timing
The state takes a few business days to issue the certified copy, so send the UBI by Monday for that week's Thursday run. Anything later goes on the following week.
Who sends these
Corporate and transactional law firms, registered-agent and compliance services, and Seattle companies expanding into the EU, UK, and Canada. If the destination country isn't part of the Hague Convention, the document will need further legalization after the apostille; tell me the country up front and I'll flag it.
